Does anyone have a method to monitor system operator messages requiring a response via a report sent to an outq? I can't get approval to spend significant dollars for a monitoring system so I am trying to find a way to be alerted via email for any system messages that need to be answered. I have reports circulated via email using nominated outqs

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi,

You could write a CL program to monitor the QSYSOPR queue for unanswered messages, whcih then sends you an e-mail.

In Ops Navigator there’s also an option to monitor for messages and run a command. Right click on your system name, select monitors, then message.

Martin Gilbert.

I agree with Martin. I have been using Management Central Message Monitoring to monitor for specific messages on 2 i5 servers and then send emails to both my work and home email accounts.

Hope this helps,
Bill
