Please clarify your question. Are creating drivers, and you want to know how to manipulate and test the sync bits? Or are you only curious how they are used (how they work)?

The lowest layer of the OSI reference model is the physical layer. It is responsible for the actual physical connection between the devices. The physical layer contains information in the form of bits. While Bit synchronization, when physical layer provides the synchronization of the bits by providing a clock. This clock controls both sender/ receiver thus providing synchronization at bit level. However, you have to read about Bit Rate Control, Transmission Mode etc. If this is your homework, you have to read your study materials for solid knowledge.

Do you have a specific reason for the question, as in a real business case? Is this just mainly a research or class assignment? More specific details would help.
