We have two different applications that are written in C++ and are running on two different machines (with different operating systems). One's running on Linux, the other on Microsoft Windows. One of the applications updates an XML file on a NAS. The other application actually reads the file. Would it be possible to synchronize the two processes in order to avoid reading the file at the same exact time it's being updated? Thank you.
