After I did a reinstall / reboot, my Symantec Backup Exec is not starting up. All it keeps saying is this: Exit code  = 1066. One or more backups has failed to start. Why is this happening? It worked before I did the re-installation.

On what OS it is installed. Have you done any update on OS recently. If yes, Check either there is any pending update. Also check all necessary services related to Symantec are running properly. You can open services.msc. Here you can check either Symantec embedded database service is running or not. Also open task manager and check the same. What was the reason for the re-install? If it was because of a virus or something else there may still be underlying issues with the registry, hard drive or OS. Can you provide some additional information?
