It may be a regional thing. I tend to see more SAP job opportunities than Oracle in my area, so I would lean that direction. If you are willing to relocate for a job they could change.

SAP certification is a bit costly. But, career growth oppurtunities are very much in SAP. Also, there are more job with higher salary in SAP. So, in my opinion, SAP certification will be better.

It is better to go for SAP certification. Specially SAP ABAP/Functional Consultant.

You need to look at this at a higher level...What is it that you like to do? Have you worked with either of these database systems before? Are you dead set on this path? Have you considered other things such as networking or, my favorite, security?

Other than SAP, for technical side, you can consider for Cisco networking/Security related courses. This can be a lesser cost than SAP. However, this is totally dependent on your future career prospect or jobs that you like to do.

SAP will be a better option.

There is no "better" choice that anyone can tell you without knowing many details a bout you and your life. Either one might be "better for you" but not for someone else.

If one was clearly objectively "better" than the other one, many seekers would quickly flood that market and correspondingly dilute its value.

It all depends on what you want to do. I do see more job postings for SAP in my region. You need to take a look at the database systems and see which one you will enjoy working with. It may be neither of them. If you are bored with your current career choice there are numerous options available. Why did you pick these two options, are there aspects of these jobs that interest you or because these are popular paths in the IT world currently.
