Suppress “No File” displays

In order to know what input files exist to process, I open the particular and interrogate the file-status.  When the file does NOT exist, the message "File <filename> in library *LIBL not found or inline data file missing.". Is there a way to suppress this display?  The display is not necessary in this case and places several undesired entries in the job log. Thanks!

Don't encounter the error, then the messages won't be logged.

One example method would be to call the Retrieve Object Description (QUSROBJD) API with an error code parameter. The error code parameter can receive the error message ID rather than having messages logged. If the message ID indicates the object doesn't exist, then don't try to open the file. There will be no display and no logged messages.

You could use the CHKOBJ command to check whether the file exists. Use it in Combination with a MONMSG(CPF9801). CPF9801 means the Object (File) does not exist.
