Well, you can't enter information in a regular screen and in a window subfile at exactly the same time.  But, yes, you can enter into both before you press <Enter>

The trick isn't the entry but the processing.  Just make certain you're reading not only the subfile records (Chain, ReadC) but also the non-subfile format containing the input-capable fields.

Thanks for answering me Splat ;-)

But I can't navigate from the regular screen to the window and vice versa without a toggle key... Does the iseries really allow that?

Can i really have a screen + a side subfile window and be able to navigate from one screen to the other without a toggle key?

If yes Can u please help me to accomplish that?

I also want to send you the screen that I'm talking about but I don't know how...

I missed the 'window' portion of your initial query for which I apologise.  A window is in effect a separate display and I can't think of a way to allow entry to a window and a primary display without toggling between the two.

You can have input-capable formats on the same display as an input-capable subfile, with any input from both/either being retrieved in your program, but I question whether such would be possible using a window.

Again, my apology for missing the import of your initial question.

Your display would have 2 windows and only one can be active at a time. What type of application are you looking at. It may be possible to do this with a sub file.
