So while browsing my FB, I came across an interesting news article posted by a friend. I opened the page and read the article, later when I went to close any opened tabs I saw the aforementioned article but when I saw the URL this is what I saw: https://wifi.net.gov.bc.ca/fs/customwebauth/login.html?switch_url=https://wifi.net.gov.bc.ca/login.html&client_mac=5c:af:06:12:d2:e3&wlan=DOGWOOD&redirect=m.thespec.com/news-story/7273835-mobster-angelo-musitano-shot-dead-in-waterdown-driveway. It was the apparent BC gov login that threw me off am i just paranoid? Any thoughts?

It looks like some Web manipulation taking place. Did you get any malware alerts on your local system? Any other oddities?

I have heard of bogus links in FB causing issues for people.. It's just another delivery method for possible malware. Run a good updated virus scan and see if it finds anything. Come back with more info if you are still having issues.
