My department is currently working on an application and we have to store our MySQL database in source control. What's the best way to do that? We were thinking of having two different files:
  1. Script for the tables
  2. Inserts for the sample data
Would that be a good way to do it? Thank you very much.

Have you determines what software you will be using for your source control? If not, I would suggest you investigate that and then you will find recommendations for "best Practices"
