This question may sound odd but here it goes: Is there a format (or setting) that I could use to type anywhere on a Microsoft Word document? Meaning I could start writing at the bottom of a sheet (or even the middle). I don't want to start at the top left. Thank you very much.

Click and type anywhere in Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word has a feature that is rarely used but is very helpful. It is double click and type. Just double click anywhere in the document and your insertion point (the cursor) will be placed exactly at that place.

You can try that, by using Textbox feature in MS Word. Open Word, click Insert menu and select Text Box. Now select vertical/horizontal as per your choice. After that the cursor changes into a crosshair. Click the location within the document where you want to write text. Now hold down left mouse button & draw a rectangle. Now type any text in the text box.
