The sound on my computer will not work, no matter what I try. I just did a factory reset, and afterwards, the sound stopped working. Thanks for the help.

Check whether you have a sound driver or not. If there is a sound driver in your system then your speaker might be the culprit here

Solution:

1.Goto the “Sound” panel avaliable from control panel.

2. In the field where the device are displayed ‘Right-click” and select “Show disabled Device” from the mouse fly-out menu.

3. Now that all device show – ENABLE your speakers. The Internal Envy speakers are “IDT High Definition Audio”

Check if by mistake the sound driver is missing or not corrupted. You can check it by opening Device Manager. is there sound icon showing on right side of the task bar.

Sounds strange, pardon the pun. To see if it is a bad speaker, try a pair of headphones if you have them. If they work then it's not the card but the speaker itself. Make sure it's not muted and the volume is loud enough. I have see a lot of videos on line, Yahoo for example, where the sound is muted by default.

I believe the speakers are fine, I plugged some headphones in, and there still wasn't any sound. What I forgot to mention before, is that all drivers are up to date, and windows audio is running. Despite this, still no sound.

Open sound tray icon and change the default sound mode (probably it is Speakers) to Headphone by selecting the check box. Hope it will overcome this issue. This troubleshoot only if you want to hear sound/songs by using headphone or something like this.
