So, I think a couple of days ago, my Gmail updated but anyways, here's my question. Obviously, I know I can sort my emails from newest to oldest (and vice versa) but when I do a search, can I sort my results that way? Meaning can I sort the results of the search? Thank you.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

The only sort I have found is newest to oldest or oldest to newest. After you search results are shown, at the top right of the results just outside is a gear icon. To the left of that are the symbols < and >.  They are hard to see. These will let you sort the results by date.

There is a long list of advanced search operators that you can use in Gmail for better search results. Also if you want to get all mail older than 29 August 2018, on Search textbox you type as: before:2018/08/29 & then click Search Mail button. Same trick you can use, if you want to get all mails newer than 5 days, then type as: newer_than:5d & then click Search Mail button. In this way you can make your search more comfortable.

I think there was an option to go back to the old email format as well.
