new motherboard sony vaio vgc-lv1s
I have upgraded my PC to windows 10 (from vista) and it works, but sometimes slowly. Someone mentioned to me upgrade ram, but with investigation been told by Sony that its at the maximum it can handle. So was trying to find a new motherboard (with the ability for more than 4gb ram) and finding it difficult to source. Can someone please help

Software/Hardware used:
Running windows 10, with intel core2 duo, system type 'X64 based'

I'd be surprised if a motherboard like you want is available. Very limited market would make for an expensive motherboard. It'll likely be cheaper to buy a newer (used) PC.

Sony doesn't support PCs that old being upgraded to Windows 10.

Same here. That CPU is so outdated, finding a new motherboard for it would be tough. Depending on your needs and budget, some stores may have a much better computer on clearance. This is taking into consideration with a new motherboard, additional memory and possibly a new video card will cost near the same.

What types of tasks are you doing on your system?

If this system works slowly sometimes, this is not a big issue. If you want to play high resolution games/ heavy duty multimedia software then this is a problem. Else if you do general works/ browsing then it is OK. Not necessary to change the system.
