I reinstalled password protection manager and now it is asking my to reformat the drive. Is there any way to go back to original version so that I can use my old password and retrieve files?

Why this is asking that is not revealed here? Also why you reinstalled the same, that is not revealed here. You can uninstall the same and try to do whatever you want to do. Or move all necessary files / folders and try the same.

Thanks for your response. I already had password protection manager on my external hard disk but it was not getting accessed from my laptop, I know my password is correct. I thought if I upgrade the version it might help, so I reinstalled it and it is not taking my old password and also asking me to set new password and then says it will reformat the disk which I obviously I dont want to do. Also, I dont know how I can uninstall the one from the hard disk. Thanks

Think this is not an easy task, either you connect the HDD to an another computer and download the software (online) and try the same. If this does not work, for further assistance regarding your concern, please contact the Sony offices / representative offices / service center nearest to your place. They are in a better position to respond to your concerns.
