Internet speed slows down

I run a speed test and get about 2 MBPS download and 10 upload. I then reset my router (not my modem) and it returns to what I pay for, 100 mbps download and my usual 10 upload. The problem only slows my download speeds down by about 98%. I run from my very new nighthawk router a cat6 ethernet cord straight to my gaming PC. A couple hours later after resetting the router though, the internet speed slows down again to around 2mbps download, but stays at about 10 upload!? This is very confusing and I have been working months to fix the issue. It doesn't seem to be a driver issue, or any direct hardware issue. Please tell me what the issue might be.

Who is your ISP? It may be they are throttling your service if you use excessive amounts of data. We all know they are not supposed to do that. Have you tried running a speed test from a neutral site like?  speedtest.net

I have also heard rumors if you don’t rent the equipment from the ISP they won’t guarantee the speed. If there are any other devices connected to the router, directly or by wi-fi at the same time it can kill your bandwidth.

When you surfing, ever you run ping command simultaneously? This kills bandwidth also. Did you consult with your service provider? It is better to ask the vendor/SP who can help you.
