Internet connection is very slow

Tracert shows it is fine until it reaches my ISP's IP. At random times it goes to 3000ms and time outs, I tried buying a new router and modem replacing the wiring and downloading an app that checks for interference, nothing is working. There isn't too many devices connected, I also monitored the speed and its all fine no one is using too much data. And yes, I tried unplugging my modem. I know its not my PC so yeah.

Is this a broadband or DSL connection ?  If broadband, and the drop times seem to be at the same time, it may be network traffic. I have been told there may be peak usage hours, say 7:00pm when most people may jump on their PC’s that you may see random drops or slow speeds.  


Another thing to do is run a virus scan and see if you system has been hijacked and is being used as a bot. It may be using bandwidth you are not aware of or it may be getting used for other reasons.

    Several reasons are behind this cause. Age of your computer/ distance/ obstructions etc. What you can do, change your Wi-Fi channel number and check if that helps.

    If speeds are regularly reported as slowing at points along a route and those points are ISP-controlled, then your ISP is where you should contact. It's unlikely anything more can be added from here.

    @"Subhendu Sen" tried doing that nothing is working. even tried blocking all ports still happening my friend irl never gets it and he is has the same hop for ISP and I tried getting new wiring modem router everything.

    Erstwhile told that, there are so many reasons behind this issue. Exactly what happens, not possible to know from this side. Position of router is an important part. Make sure no other equipment should be there. Lastly you can try to update Firmware (if any) and check if that helps. Keep in mind, before update, please write down the all settings.
