What is the OS of your clients? What troubleshooting have you done so we don't suggest steps you have already taken? Has a virus or malware or botware been ruled out?

The machines are widnows 7. no trouble shooting till now . By console session i mean the local user accessing locally. anything else you can suggest. I was going to look at perf mon or similar.

NO thing to do with as400. where did that come from? I don't know. If after logging in the machines work ok, I don't think perf mon or any similar application would help much. The problem is most likley being caused by something that is done during the logon process. If the problem occurs when logging in to the domain, some possible causes could be: -Domain policies -Logon scripts -DNS issues -Roaming profiles -Folder redirection

It seems that I misunderstood the question. I thought the problem was when starting the session.
