I have a Master's Degree in IT. Is it ok to take a two year degree for a Diploma in IT Security? This is to further my knowledge about IT Security. Your thoughts?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi paulreeves

Since you already have a masters in IT , i would never think of having one more degree in security. Security is a vast field and its a quite dynamic. If you manage to find a job in Security, the experience will certainly add the value and provide you the knowledge.
Cheers

Assuming master's in IT that is msc-IT, now wanted to take 2 years course on IT security. It depends on what institution you have selected and the quality of their faculties. Which you did not reveal here. Better think about CCNA Security. Don't be hurry. Take your time. See here for Cisco Course: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/community/certifications/security_ccna.

Thank you for your response. The 2 year IT security I'm going to take is a preparation for CSCU and CEH certifications.

As long as it aligns with what you have planned for your career, then it is definitely Ok.

The extra education never hurts as long as it's related to your career goals. No sense wasting time and money on something you do not planning on using down the road.
