Should I go for SAP CRM or SAP SD?

I have done my MBA in 2006 with Marketing and have more than 8 years of experience in Marketing and Selling of Financial Products and Customer Relationship Management. I do not have a strong technical background, but I'm ready to learn. Presently I'm in the Middle Management Grade of a very reputed Bank. Firstly, I'm planning to go for a SAP SD end user certification followed by SAP SD Certification. I wish to move to the IT Sector as a Consultant. Is my decision correct? Should I go for CRM rather than SD? Please guide.

Software/Hardware used:
SAP SD, SAP CRM

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

We answer technical questions on this site. We do not know you aptitude, abilities or what jobs are available in the geographic area you would like to work in.

If you are already into sales and distribution career, I recommend you to go with SAP CRM career into cloud. Which is known for SAP Cloud for Customer. There are many certification like SAP C4C integration, C4C Development etc.

Your decision for moving IT sector may not correct according to your work experience professional degree. In respect to IT, the field is so vast and so many branches. As you don't have a strong technical background, it is not a wise decision to move IT. Now you are working in a very reputed bank, and generally bank has commercial types works/ jobs. As already you have experience in Marketing & Selling, it is better to go for SAP SD, but also you can consider SAP CRM. Now it is up to you.

Without a strong base, it's hard to break into any area of IT without certifications or a degree. It's best to stick with your strong points. If you are bored and looking for a career change, then you may need to attend some kind of school or training institute.
