Set up for end-users to submit agent to run from server and not tied up their session

I have a Notes database which allows certain users (auditors) to submit an agent which runs several jobs to recalculate some data and rebuild summary data for the summary drill-down view. As each month goes by, and more and more worksheets are created by users world-wide, it is taking longer and longer for the agent to process the jobs which ties up the person's pc. This agent may run at anytime after some adjustments are made and audited, and can be run more than once or twice. I currently have a button with ToolsRunMacro to execute the agents, but would like to have the agent run in the background so to free up the PC, which probably means this will need to run from the server. I have an idea in mind to update a document in a view and have an agent trigger on that, but checking to see if anyone has a better idea. Thanks in advance.

Can you use the runOnServer method in LotusScript? i.e., status = notesAgent.RunOnServer( [ noteID$ ] )
