The location of your Domino programs and data is determined by the following lines in your notes.ini:
If you want a directory or database to exist outside of the above paths you would create a link. That can be done on the Files tab of the Domino Administrator, on the right side under the Tools. You may search the Administrator Help database for the following document: “Creating directory and database links”.
What this actually does is create a text file with a *.dir extension. The text file contains the path of the pointer to the directory. For example:
A file named “logs.dir” would appear in the Open Database dialog as a folder named “logs”. That file could contain the path to a directory such as d:dominoLogs
If you wanted to create a link to a single database, the process is almost the same. What this will actually do is create a text file with a *.nsf extension. The text file would contain the path to a Domino database located outside the default directory path.
