Separate clusters of Raspberry Pi

So I was wondering you can make separate clusters of Raspberry pi (any model and version) and make orange pi clusters I'm wondering. Can a Raspberry pi be a header of a node and some orange pi's be a slave because raspberry pi's are pretty slow on there own (even as a cluster you have to have new models and a lot of em) and orange pi's are unstable and can crash but if  raspberry pi is a header and orange pi as a slave the orange pi has less of a strain therefore theoretically decreasing a chance of a crash.

Software/Hardware used:
Raspberry pi,orange pi
