I need to send a file that has an item name field that contains commas and double quotes to an Excel spreadsheet. I need to keep the commas and quotes in the item name field. Currently, the SNDMAIL options uses the commas to break down the item field into separates fields. Is there away I can create an Excel spreadsheet and not break down the item field into separate fields.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you are generating the text in the file, put the contents of the name field inside double quotes.

For example, assuming that name goes in the second column:

1, “Smith, John”

What is the current format of the file you are trying to send? If it is a CSV then it will break the apart unless wrapped in quotes. Provide further details and the code you are trying if you are still having problems
