We have an ID vault and now we want to have our own Self Service Password reset for users.
There's already a pre-designed Self Service by IBM (pwdresetsample.nsf) however, the default is by using the HTTP authentication. We would like to have Challenge questions as part of assessing the users who are requesting for password reset instead of the HTTP passwords.
Right now, I'm thinking of creating a Registration form, where each users will identify their email address, personal info and then answer the challenge questions, wherein when the users wants to reset their password, Lotus Notes will check on the registration forms to compare passwords and challenge question answers.
I am not yet too familiar on how Lotus Notes can save password changes so I really need your advice on this one.
Hope to hear from you. Thank you in advance!
Software/Hardware used: Lotus Domino 8.5.3, Windows Server 2008 Standard
I will also be setting up a solution like this for our company. Your description of your solution sounds off base. What you need to do is have the users successfully answer question/answers that they previously populated. When they do, issue a command to the ID Vault. ID Vault will then go through its processes, pushing a Notes ID to the user's workstation. When the user attempts to login to Notes, they have to set a password. Or something like that. In any case, you should not try to build a password reset function into your app.
