Security on DB2/400 files and MS Access DSN’s

We need to restrict the ability of users with MS Access using DSN's from maintaining records in our files. Wondering what security we can put on our DB2/400 files and user profiles that will still allow our ERP users to do their job? Currently using V4R5 and ERP is PRMS 8.4. Thanks.

There are lots of choices. Pentasafe from NetIQ and PowerLock from PowerTech Group are just two examples. You can write your own exit programs, but it’s not a lot of fun if you’ve got other work to do. (I actually enjoyed it, but I couldn’t keep up with the changes to exit points and handle all the permutations of requests. At least not while getting the rest of my work done.)
