Searching for multi-line pattern in a Linux file

I'm looking to find all the files that contain a certain string pattern. The first thought that came to my mind is that I should use "find" piped with xargs grep, like this:
find . -iname '*.py' | xargs grep -e 'YOUR_PATTERN'
But what do I do if I need patterns that are on more than one line? I can't use vanilla grep can't find multi-line patterns. Thanks!
