Running a command in the IFS from Startup program

Tags:
IFS
Hi,

Is there a way to run a command in the IFS from the AS400 startup program? We are using Goldengate and the command to start the service is this, in the Linux shell in the IFS:

oracle -c "/oracle/goldengate/./ggsci paramfile startGG.obey

How can I call that command from the AS400 startup program?

Thanks!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You could set up a job in the job scheduler to start this up. Just put the QSHELL command to run in a CL program. Then set the days and times to run. If unsure how to run QSHELL from a CL check out the IBM link below.

Your question is unclear. The "IFS" doesn't exist in a Linux system. It exists only under IBM i. It can be accessed through IFS interfaces either in the Qshell or PASE (AIX) environments. If Linux is run in a partition, it's not part of the IFS.

More info is needed. Most helpful would be a clear, step-by-step description of how you need to run the command from a terminal session. It is possibly also necessary to list any services that are required to be started before the command can succeed.

Oracle has some good documentation on the process.
    Oracle GoldenGate on iSeries

The also have a good PDF with Qshell commands for a lot of features.  PDF

Check them out again if if you still have issues, provide specifics like Raven mentioned. It will help us out a bit more.

    Try this:

    QSH CMD('oracle -c "/oracle/goldengate/./ggsci paramfile startGG.obey')
