Whenever I shut down / restart my computer, I noticed that I'm always disconnected from my router. Of course it always reconnects but why does it disconnect in the first place? That shouldn't be the case, right?

Check the power settings. On search bar type devmgmt.msc. to open Device manager. In this window, expand Network Adapters & look for Wi-Fi driver, right click to open Properties. On this window click to Power Management tab and uncheck/deselect the option 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. Click OK. Now close all windows & restart the system to take effect and check again.
