Restricted state Full System Backup using BRMS

Where do I need to specify that I do not want it to bring up any subsystems after the backup has completed?

    I guess you would need to check the Policies (SYS and BKU). However the "Restricted Sate" backup is always going to call, or start the QCTL subsystem. That is going to trigger a call of the QSTRUPPGM. (see System Values). Avoiding a full start of the system will involve some programming. At our shop we use a Data Area and depending on the value in that Data Area our Startup PGM will behave differently. eg Start the system for Production Mode or Maintenance Mode or whatever you need/want.

    We avoid the problem by not having a startup program assigned in QSTRUPPGM.

    We do have a startup program, but it's executed via a command.
