That depends on the specific need of restoration and the authorities available for the job. In general, there is no "best".

Does the file currently exist on the system? Is the restore intended to revert to a previous version or is it to correct damage to the data space or object header? Is the complete file being restored or a specific member? Is the object owner doing the restore? ...or a *ALLOBJ user? Can all permissions, etc., be recovered easily apart from the restore. or must it all be retained or recovered via the restore?

In most IT operations on any platform, there is no "best". Clear requirements are needed.

testing Flash Copy process, just wanted to find out if anyone had used FC before and what the most suitable method

I've used RSTOBJBRM command, just to track time

    Thank you TRRaven

Like raven said it depends on why you need the restore. Are you fixing a problem file or just moving it to another machine or system?  There are other parameter to consider when restoring to a system as a new file.
