I am not sure if this should be addressed by the SQL Server group or SharePoint Server group. Since I am more familiar with SQL Server than SharePoint I started here. We have SharePoint Server 2003 installed on Windows 2003 server running SQL Server 2005. We have been backing up daily, two of the SharePoint databases that we believed to hold the data for this SharePoint site, WSS_Content_SPSA and WSS_Content2. The backup has been completed using SQL Server 2005 backup and each database backup has been a full backup. A user inadvertently deleted several document items from the SharePoint site. There has been no activity on this site since the inadvertent deletion. Is it possible to restore just these two databases without compromising the site? If so can we use the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio GUI restore feature as when restoring a non-SharePoint database. It appears as there are several connections to these databases so we will need to somehow close all connections to each database prior to restore. Thanks for your assistance.
Software/Hardware used: Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2005, SharePoint Server 2003
