What type of router is there? Why did you want to reset it? Are you a sys admin person? What is the problem there that asks for resetting the same. Is it an office? Without knowing all of these, you can not get good replies.

What connection do you want to stop the connection from the ISP/SERVER or the Wi-Fi devices? IF the devices, just keep them powered off is one option the second is change the password so the devices will not auto connect.

Physical connection is important to reset a router. That too using admin credentials.

If that is the case then you do need a physical connection via a cable connection and sign in using the IP net address that allows you to configure it and change the password to reset everything securely.

If you know the password, so open a browser on the same domain, and type the router address like 192.168.1.1 (or whatever it is) then you can make changes as you desire. But be careful, if it misconfigures, then you can not access it also/ not able to connect later.
