There seems to be an issue with replication due to a recent update to some configuration on the ECC system. After some initial investigation SAP Level 3 support (an external SAP service provider) has advised that the particular configuration is not required to be replicated from ECC to ByDesign.
However the replication program is incorrectly attempting to process this which causes it to stop in error. The replication program runs every hour but continues to fail each time with the same error – preventing the successful completion of other dependant replication processes.
The SAP Level 3 support team have created a new transport to fix the error and have completed Unit Testing in their own environment. The same error has not been able to be reproduced in the integrated non-production (test) environments. This has been traced to Change Logs currently not being set to activate in these environments.
They have proposed two options to resolve the issue in the short term
Option 1 – Move the new transport into production
Option 2 – A workaround to update a date parameter that is used by the replication program that will effectively bypass the configuration that is causing the issue. This option is only a temporary fix and the new transport will need to be migrated as the permanent fix at some stage.
