I have a Microsoft Word 2016 document that has a table of contents. Each page has a heading page number at the top. I would like to remove the first heading page (basically - the number '1'). How can I do that and leave the remaining numbers?

Open the Word file, & click page layout on the ribbon. Next click page setup dialog box. From here, click the layout. Under the section headers and footers, select the different first page check box. Then click OK.
