We are looking to allow some users green screen access to our iSeries remotely on a variety of devices. Some Android based others Windows based.  Any recommendations of an emulator to use that is easy to set up? I've looked at a few and they are all a little different on the set-up side.

I use Mocha TN5250. It suits me best. Others haven't done as well.

Thx for the tip Raven. I will look into it. My boss was hoping for a free application due to the number of devices we may want to use. I'll pass it along.

We had tried a product GLINK I think it was and it seemed ok. The demo version just would not allow multiple sessions. It was not priced to bad but it still another expense. I think they were looking for other alternatives other than Client Access but still have all the same features. Guess they will keep looking. Why they don't stay with CA I don't know..

Please clarify "all the same features". iSeries Access has a lot of features, most go unused at most sites. Only terminal emulator features?

The simple Mocha TN5250 is "free" for general individual use. I assume that an enterprise-wide use would have a cost, but it should also include a form of support plus perhaps a feature or so that I don't need (for Android; otherwise I use iAccess). I'd be hard pressed to make wider usage of any important product without vendor support.

I agree Raven. They want things like setting up a i-Series printer, Excel add on for data transfer, ability to customize keyboards and things of that nature. I don't think they are going to be able to find a free alternative.
