That depends on the features that the laptop has and the features provided by the docking station. Not much chance of getting a good answer unless we know all of those. -- Tom
Depends on the customer/company preference. They may work to not purchase any desktop's so that the user can take their laptop home, but, in the same sense, when you come into work, instead of you having to reconnect all the wires to a large monitor, keyboard and mouse, and yes, people still like to look at big screens, then the docking station is the tool for that. Remember, most people are not computer literate. Some still do not know where the "any key" is.
