I'm looking for effective redaction of PDF options. Is PDF > JPEG > PDF a secure option? And does it reduce the quality of the material when printing or scanning?

What are your plans for the final file? With a PDF you have the security and the ability to convert to Word documents. A JPEG does not provide the same flexibility.

hi todd, thanks for your reply

well, once content has been redacted from a pdf, our management wants to print and rescan the document back to a pdf. this is a painstaking task. Is there an easier way to bypass the print and rescan step and still be able to achieve the end result??

What does management plan on doing with the PDF document? Do they plan on marking/writing on them and then want them re-scanned for archiving ? Are they just looking to save on the file size?
If they are just looking to reduce the file size, you may lose some detail when trying to enlarge it again to read.
