Please describe the server environments (system models) and the backup methods (SAVLIB? SAVSYS? other?). If we have a general idea of what is being saved and what systems are involved, responses will be easier.

There are two very general responses. First, if the save and transfer processes threw no significant errors, it's almost certain that all went 100%. And second, the only good way to test a tape backup is to run a test restore (which should be done perhaps yearly).

If more detail is available, more answers may also be available.

More details are needed as to what was backed up, what SAV*** command was used and what command RST*** command was used. To many unknowns for us to provide an accurate answer.
Take a look at the joblog to see if there were any errors or object not backed up.

I'm very sorry for the general question asked. I'm equally not very clear of what kind of IBM systems the customer has but was told that they are transferring the contents of the tapes like LTO tapes & cartridges to the new system and had to ensure that everything has been copied from tapes to the system before disposing the tapes. In the event of disposal of the tapes, I must ensure that the contents of tapes have been transferred 100% and it has to be shown in document form that transferred was done 100% with error free. The customer site has more than 1000 over tapes & they are more that 5years old.
