Dear All., I'm getting a peculiar error in Lotus Notes. The Mail box shows the Database size as 30 MB, though there aren't much mails. There about 4 to 5 mails, each having few KB size. No attachments. Even Checked at All Documents. there are no hidden documents. During the quota warning error mail it gives the following error messages. "incorrect data type for operator or @function: Number expected in MB". I hav tried using FIXUP tool, UPDALL tool and COMPACT tool... but nothing helped me in reducing the database size..... please suggest me a solution for this. Please do reply to ibmlotusadmin@tkm.co.in Regards Kochu Baby

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Are these 4 or 5 mails always the same, that is never being purged if so have you tried manually deleting them and running a Tell router compact command. If this fails you may have to delete the mail.box

First, I am assuming that you do know that Trash emails are not shown in All Documents but do count towards mailfile size. Second, I admit that I haven't seen that particular error before and I don't know what special circumstances it might be pointing to. So the following is "generic" troubleshooting rather than specific to your problem, although it might help anyway. Have you done a fixup - compact - updall on the server rather than the client? I.e., close completely out of the mailfile. Go to the Administrator client, go to the server and get on the server console. Use the following commands in this order, and wait for one to complete before starting the next: load fixup (yourmailfilename).nsf; load compact (yourmailfilename).nsf -d; load updall (yourmailfilename).nsf -r. This clears over 90% of my mailfile corruption and stubborn view issues. If this doesn't work, do research your error message specifically -- I'd suggest the Notes 6 forum on the IBM site (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf)as a good starting point, as well as looking for further assistance here. Hope this helps.
