Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I found site that has it, and fairly inexpensive. The issue is why even upgrade this computer? It very outdated and I think that even upgrading/replacing the memory wont provide any real benefit compare to today’s faster and more powerful machines.

This is a DDR2 SODIMM RAM. Now you did not reveal full specifications of your computer. Is this Compaq Presario 1640? Based on a guess that does not fulfill your answer. Better contact a hardware expert and ask for an assist. Or provide more information.

No, not even close. You'll need to do some searching to find the old memory for a 1640. I checked Crucial Memory, and they claim not to have memory for the Presario 1600 series. The largest memory module for the 1640 is 64MB. Added to the unremoveable 32MB, that puts the maximum installed at 96MB.

Even you go for memory update, please get help from an expert (for slot etc.), if you are not comfortable about this job. This is the old one and as far as knowledge, the inside part of the computer is complex (Hardware).
