It may be possible.. But black on whit offer the best contrast for accurate scanning. Is there a need for doing it otherwise ? I can't recall seeing a bar code done in colors.
I agree. Any reason for color should be a convincing one or the idea should be dropped. The B/W contrast is important for scanners and possibly critical. It's also important for the humans who can need to rapidly recognize the locations of bar codes or QR codes and point a reader at them. -- Tom
