Does anyone know of a way to in Python to to programatically determine the width of a console? I'm talking about the number of characters that fits one line without any wrapping (not the pixel width of the window). I need the solution to be in Linux as well. Thank you in advance.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Use echo $ tput cols in php. It will give the column width of the console. From that you can analyze the number of characters that fits in it.
