yes they can but it is invasion of privacy by law. Word of advice: Do not use your work resources for personal use .

    If they have the right software in place yes. If you are using their equipment you should assume no right to privacy. Some companies can terminate employees based on their actions and use of company property. We have let some employees go because of the site(s) they visited even though they used their own personal account.

    The way I understand it, in the U.S., employers can indeed do this. things are different in Europe and other countries. You have likely signed an acceptable use policy agreeing to whatever terms IT/security/management desires. Or, like in many cases, there is an acceptable use policy that IT/security/management has not told you about. The reality is that such policies are rarely monitored and enforced.

    Yes, if admin person wish they can see your conversation. It is better not to do chat when you are in office.

    Yes, Mostly your manger have a authority to check your mails or chats, if they are done by official mailing system or mail id.
