I would start with a DSPUSRPRF *ALL to an outfile. Sometimes the Printer used for the profile is directly in there. It could also point to the *WRKSTN or to the *SYSVAL. You will need to find a way to resolve those names.

How is the printer set up, *LAN, *RMT or via Client Access?
Using pdraebel method you will find all the users who can print spool file to that printer if it is set as their default. If its a network printer, then some users can print to it from windows if it is set as the windows default printer.

It's rare that users ever connect to a printer. They almost always only have a connection to an *OUTQ. Writers connect to printers.

A printer device description  (not the 'printer' but its 'description' or *DEVD) is generally used only to provide control characteristics during generation of spooled output.
