There a few possibilities. These come to mind:

    1) The bios configuration was modified with or without intention, and the device selected for boot is not present.
    2) The SATA cable might have been detached from the drive or board.
    3) The drive is damaged.

To elaborate on Carlosdl answer, the beeping you are hearing is the POST (Power-On Self-Test). It is what each and every computer goes through when booting up to find issues, like yours, in the event your PC does not come on. If you Google computer POST types, if will tell you how many beeps mean what so that you can diagnose your problem.

How old is the computer? Is this a desktop or a laptop computer? I'd follow CarlosDL advice. If you have not changed anything or moved the desktop computer it may be a hardware failure. If you moved it recently then a wire may have come lose from the drive or the motherboard. If you can get to the BIOS on boot up, check to see what drives are recognized and what sequence they boot in. You may have to boot from a CD if your hard drives are damaged.
