Before
we would want to give an answer to this, we would like to know do you have
a business case for asking this question or is it a homework question.

If you have a good business
case for it, please let us know. It is really not right for us to be doing
homework for people. It deprives them of the extra knowledge they get when
doing the research themselves.

You'll probably need to contact the IT groups at one or more hotels and ask them. I suspect that most of them run proprietary software packages.

Any connection to reservation systems, such as for hotels, airlines, etc., should require heavy security. There are any number of reasons that someone would like to know when/where someone else will be. Protecting that info is critical. There might be little that is disclosed.

Like Raven said you are better off going to the source. They most likely will not disclose their process though. With so many companies having data breaches they may feel you are looking for ways to exploit their system. These systems are secure for a reason and privacy is just another layer of protection. Systems like Travelocity, Hotwire, Hotels.com and other have their own layer on top of the individual Hotel layer. Everything has to be in sync or there would be a lot of unhappy customers.
