Before Install Group PTF I need to save entire system for recovery.
Before upgrade server firmware (no HMC) I have some question.
Did something I can do?
May I recovery server firmware when server fail?
Did save entire system include server firmware?
My machine : 8202-E4C power7 v6r1 upgrade to AL740_152
I studied  IBM document number : 552690639 no about this subject.

I'm assuming you know how to run the complete system save (Go Save > option 21).

From your HMC, look under HMC Management & locate the Back up management console data & Save Upgrade Data links.  Depending on the model / OS you can back up on to DVD RAM or USB flash drives.

I read the follow document :

Session Title: Power Systems Firmware Management
       Allyn Walsh – awalsh@us.ibm.com
       ession ID: SM20

    The final is :

       In-band firmware maintenance
        – Always requires a “complete server IPL” to be activated…
           in other words ‘Disruptive'
If you no longer have an HMC your only option is to set the               system back to  ‘Manufacturing Default Configuration
(MDC). Contact your next level of  support for assistance on           this.
    The let me very  worry.

The question is whether you ever had an HMC?

If not, you should be fine doing a full system save prior to loading the firmware update (if you can do one after also - that way you'll have an up-to-date backup).  If you did but don't now, then you're in the situation where you need to contact support.

BTW, sorry for the confusion - I read your original question as differentiating between the server & HMC, not (as you intended) that you didn't have one.
