I am currently working as an associate SAP consultant in an implementation project (Customer Project). We are using hierarchical cost planning. The initial configurations have been done by my senior. I now know how to create a project with project code, WBS, WBS elements, network and activities. I know that CJ40 is used for cost planning and CJ30 is used for budgeting. I am aware that a approved cost plan is called budget.
  1. But I want to know how the values are entered in CJ30 and CJ40?
  2. Will the budget (data in Cost planning) come from finance department or from the clients?
  3. How does settlement done using CJB2?
  4. Where does Actual cost comes into picture and how is it done?
  5. Please explain wherever we use data from finance in a customer project?
  6. What are all the data that we need from Material Management and FICO?
Warm Regards

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

CJ30 is used for budget and project controller – Client has to enter it and cost plan can be done on CJ40.

Finance department will post cost with PR,PO,GR,IR Flow or direct through journal entrys from FB50.

Settlement is done at end of project during period end
