PDF hyperlink to specific page number of PDF will not work when opened in Safari on iPhone

Hi all,

As I included in the title of this question, I created a hyperlink of a PDF and said link leads to a specific page number of said PDF.

When I click on the hyperlink in the Word doc. I put it in on my Macbook Pro, all is fine, it opens in Google Chrome to the PDF and the specific page I linked it to.

However, when I try to open the same hyperlink on my iPhone, it leads me to the correct PDF but not said specific page number- just to the first page, through my Safari app.

I read somewhere this may have something to do with Safari? Anyway, wondering if there's a way to get the hyperlink to lead to the specific page number regardless of technology/app being used?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I believe it has to do with the way the link is formatted. You may have to test what browser a person is using for it to work. It has to do with the way the page number is formatted.  There is no = in the Safari link.

if browser = IE/Edge/Chrome then #page=3,
if browser=Safari then #page3.

Do you have Adobe Reader installed? When installed, it should include a plug-in for Safari that handles page numbers. I don't think Safari can do it by itself.

Which iPhone model is it? Is the latest iOS is updated? Or have you checked that safari is up to date?

    I don't think so.

The action of navigating to the specific page once the document is open has to be done by the application opening it (albeit sometimes with the help of some kind of add-on), and it is not possible to guarantee that every application will do it.
