Password

my administrator password is failing when I try to boot my hard drive which crashed.I am trying to chkdsk it but password is failing?How could I possibly bypass it?

Unfortunately this is the type of question that has to essentially go unanswered. The information disclosed for the solution of such a problem is viewable by others and it represents a security risk. Im not saying you’ll use it wrongly, but others might, and for that reason, it’s not OK to disclose.

We ran into the same issue last week, working on a customer's computer with no known administrator password. Through basic internet research we found instructions to create a cd we could boot from, which allowed us access to change passwords on the XP machine. Good luck!

As a network and desktop support professional, I do understand the security issues which may (will???) appear by bypassing password(s) on a system. Depending upon the type of password protection used, it may not be possible to bypass it (think TPM password protection or Safeguard Easy or similar pre-boot process). The issue has been discussed in this forum before, so I'm really just rehashing old(er) information here: booting from an external source can resolve a large number of these type of issues. the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows and Knoppix are two well known examples of external boot media available. There are (many) others. Again, just restating info already discussed, and available from a quick web search...

Try Winternals, that will reset your password and also, you can use to do check disk repair, analyse system crash, and restore your P.C in a more advance way..
